What happens at a Lunch & Learn?
May 21, 2015

Adrian Garrett, one of RCI’s Learning and Development team members, has moderated RCI’s affiliate Lunch & Learn events since RCI kicked off the series last year.  With the 2015 series now under way, Adrian provides a taste of what visitors might expect:

Q: What is the primary question you hear from attendees at Lunch & Learn events?

AG: We typically see resort personnel that want more information on how they can get their members to pay their maintenance fees. That’s something that’s always a concern for HOAs. Our resort affiliates understand how important it is to keep their owners engaged and happy with their timeshare experience. If they’re not enjoying the experience, they’re a lot less likely to pay their maintenance fee on time. So our attendees often want to know what they can do to become more successful and more efficient in that regard.

They also want to know more about RCI’s website for its resort affiliates. Since relaunched in April, we’ve gotten a lot of positive feedback from users, but they want to make sure they’re getting the most out of it that they can, and that they can easily utilize all the useful features that we host on the site.

Q: If I’m going to a Lunch & Learn event, who would I expect to see there?

AG: First of all, you’re going to see your RCI Business Development support team. It’s a great opportunity for you to talk in person with the RCI personnel that you communicate with through phone and email, but don’t always get to meet in person. It gives you a chance to address specific questions or solicit more valuable information on what RCI can do to help you run your resort and support your owners.

You’re also going to see many representatives from our RCI Affiliate Access® vendors, ready to showcase some of the ways you can leverage their products and services. We have more ways than ever to bring you best-in-class support. This is another chance to learn about those services from the providers themselves.

You’ll also likely see board members, general managers and resort staff from RCI affiliated resorts around the area, so you’ll have the chance to network and compare stories and best practices.

In addition, the attendees at a recent Lunch & Learn event had the opportunity to meet the Dan “the RCI guy” in person. So, you never know who else might show up!

Q: What do RCI affiliates get out of a Lunch & Learn event that they wouldn’t get by just jumping on the internet or calling their account teams for help?

AG: Aside from everything we’ve already mentioned, RCI resort affiliates have opportunities to win products and prizes, and they even receive “attendee-only” discounts on some products and services.  And, of course, this is a Lunch & Learn event, so we always provide fabulous food.

We look forward to seeing you at an upcoming Lunch & Learn event. You can view a schedule of upcoming events and register online here. If you want a sneak peek into the experience, watch this!
