Diageo sells Ryder Cup hotel to Ennismore

Scotland’s Gleneagles hotel, the world famous golf resort and Ryder Cup venue has been sold to Ennismore, a company that runs hotels moulded in the image of east London’s hipster district of Hoxton.

The hotel is set in an 850-acre estate in rural Perthshire and has 232 rooms as well as four restaurants, including the only restaurant in Scotland with two Michelin stars.  Drinks giant Diageo, which makes Guinness and Johnnie Walker whisky said it had sold the resort because it was no longer an important part of its global business.
